Most bottles are not stored the way they should be.
Not out of neglect, but because it’s rarely explained. Over time, as we started choosing better wines, we realized something was missing. We were paying attention to what we bought, when we opened it, who we shared it with — but not to how it was kept.
Wine is more sensitive than it seems. Temperature shifts, light exposure, subtle vibrations — they don’t ruin a bottle overnight, but they slowly alter it. And once you understand that, you begin to see storage differently. Not as a detail, but as part of the experience itself.
Maison Vinum was created from that realization.
A Certain Standard
In France, wine has never been treated casually. Not in a technical or intimidating way, but with a form of quiet, almost instinctive respect. The idea that if something has been crafted with time, precision, and patience, it deserves to be preserved the same way.
What we noticed is that most solutions today sit at two extremes. Either overly complex, built for specialists, or overly simplified, designed for convenience. Very little exists in between.
Our approach is to restore that balance.
To bring a level of care and consistency into everyday life, without turning it into something complicated. To create products that feel natural to use, but are built with intention.
What We Build

We focus on what truly matters — stable temperature, minimal vibration, protection from light — and we execute it with precision. Not as added features, but as fundamentals.
At the same time, we pay attention to how these objects live in a space. They are part of a home, part of a moment, part of a ritual. They should feel coherent, discreet, and lasting.
What we are building goes beyond storage.
