What temperature should I set my wine cellar to?

It depends on what you store. For mixed collections, 54°F (12°C) is the ideal compromise. Our single-zone models hold between 41°F–68°F (5°C–20°C). Dual-zone models let you set separate temperatures — typically 41°F–54°F (5°C–12°C) for whites and sparkling, and 54°F–68°F (12°C–20°C) for reds.

What is the difference between single-zone and dual-zone models?

Single-zone cellars maintain one consistent temperature throughout the unit — ideal if you store mostly one type of wine or want to age your collection at a stable temperature. Dual-zone models have two independent compartments, each with its own thermostat, so you can store reds and whites at their optimal temperatures simultaneously.

How many bottles does each model actually hold?

Our range goes from 9 to 365 bottles across three collections: Compact (9–31 bottles), Connoisseur (46–86 bottles), and Prestige (99–365 bottles). Bottle counts are based on standard 750ml Bordeaux-style bottles. Larger formats like Burgundy or Champagne bottles may reduce capacity slightly.

Can I store other beverages in a Maison Vinum cellar?

Technically yes — but our cellars are specifically engineered for wine storage, with temperature ranges, humidity conditions, and vibration control optimized for wine preservation. For beer, sodas, or other beverages, a standard beverage cooler may be more appropriate.

Do your cellars have UV protection?

Yes. Every Maison Vinum cellar features UV-filtered tempered glass doors to protect your wine from light-induced degradation, which can alter flavor and aging over time.

Noise & Performance

How loud are your wine cellars?

Our cellars use air-cooled compressor technology designed for quiet operation. You can comfortably place them in a living room, dining area, or kitchen without disruption. Exact decibel levels vary by model — feel free to contact us for specific numbers.

Is compressor cooling better than thermoelectric?

For serious wine storage, yes. Compressor systems cool faster, maintain more consistent temperatures regardless of room temperature, and are more reliable for larger capacities. Thermoelectric units struggle in rooms above 77°F (25°C) and are typically limited to small units. All Maison Vinum cellars use compressor technology.

Will the vibrations affect my wine?

Our compressor systems are engineered for low vibration, and bottles rest on beechwood shelves that act as natural dampeners. Unlike standard refrigerators, our cellars are designed to minimize the micro-vibrations that can disturb sediment and disrupt the aging process over time.

Delivery & Setup

When will my cellar arrive?

Because we hold no warehouse stock, your cellar goes into production the day you order it — 10 to 15 days for a Compact model, 15 to 20 days for the larger cabinets — and is then shipped to you by sea. Most orders arrive within seven to nine weeks.

Each product page shows the estimated dates for that specific model. You receive tracking the moment your cellar leaves the factory.

Do you ship to all US states?

We offer free shipping across the continental United States (48 states). For Alaska and Hawaii, please contact us for a shipping quote.

How is my cellar packaged for shipping?

Every unit is double-boxed with high-density foam inserts to protect against transit damage. Our packaging is designed specifically for heavy, fragile appliances — and all packaging materials are recyclable.

Does the cellar require installation?

No custom work is required. Every Maison Vinum cellar is produced to standard cabinetry dimensions, so it slides into a standard under-counter opening without carpentry, plumbing or renovation — and it works equally well standing free.

Heat is discharged at the base, through the front, so the sides and back can sit flush against cabinetry. The exact dimensions, and the opening they need, are listed on each product page.

Once in place, plug it in and allow 24 hours at temperature before loading your bottles.

Can I use it as a built-in / under-counter unit?

Some of our models support built-in placement. However, you need to ensure proper ventilation clearance around the unit. Check the product page for specific installation guidelines, or contact us for advice on your setup.

How long before I can load my wine after delivery?

We recommend letting the cellar stand upright for at least 2 hours after delivery (to let compressor fluids settle), then turning it on and allowing 24 hours for it to stabilize at the desired temperature before placing your bottles inside.

What is your warranty policy?

Every Maison Vinum cellar comes with a 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery, covering defects in materials and workmanship — including the compressor and sealed cooling circuit, the most expensive component in any wine cellar. If you experience any issue, our support team will work with you to resolve it quickly.

What if my cellar arrives damaged?

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage. We will arrange a replacement or full refund — no questions asked.

Can I return my cellar if I change my mind?

Yes. We offer a 30-day return policy. The cellar must be unused and in its original packaging. Return shipping costs may apply — check our Returns & Exchanges page for full details.
